In the afternoon of September 30, the Huangjiu tasting for international friends, hosted by Shaoxing People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and Shaoxing Huangjiu Industry Association, was held in Shanghai. More than 30 diplomats from 19 countries jointly celebrated the 73rd anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.

The Shaoxing Huangjiu tasting was broadly welcomed by foreign embassies and consulates in China. More than 30 diplomats, including 13 Consuls General and 3 Vice Consuls General, from 19 countries (Japan, Venezuela, Turkey, Indonesia, Australia, Belarus, South Korea, Thailand, Dominica, Peru, Philippines, Austria, Malta, Bulgaria, Sri Lanka, Costa Rica, South Africa, Romania and Denmark) participated in the activity. This is the first high-level foreign guest tasting in the Shaoxing Huangjiu industry. In addition, there were more than 30 guests from Hong Kong and Shanghai.

Mr. Tan Zhigui, chairman of the Standing Committee of Shaoxing Municipal People's Congress and president of Shaoxing People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, said in his speech that Huangjiu is a kind of national wine and one of the three time-honored alcoholic beverages in the world. Shaoxing is the home of Huangjiu. For thousands of years, the industrious and intelligent people of the ancient Yue State have been committed to creating high-quality, amber, mellow Shaoxing Huangjiu with balanced flavors. Shaoxing Huangjiu was widely spread throughout the world in ancient times, which was a unique symbol of Chinese culture. Especially since the founding of New China, Shaoxing Huangjiu has become a bridge of exchanges between China and foreign countries. Mr. Deny Wachyudi Kurnia, consul general of Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Shanghai, said in his speech that the wine tasting event is undoubtedly a bridge builder opportunity between the actors of bilateral relations. During the tasting, Mr. Xu Mingguang, vice president of China Alcoholic Drinks Association and president of Shaoxing Huangjiu Industry Association, made a speech titled [Huangjiu, the Representative of National Wine" from four aspects. Mr. Xu said that Shaoxing Huangjiu is the oldest wine in the world, which is proved by the Hemudu Cultural Site with a history of more than 7000 years. Shaoxing Huangjiu is the most characteristic fermented wine. The color, aroma, taste and style are pleasing and attractive. The most representative Shaoxing Huangjiu is Guoniang 1959 (the cyan jade version), which is a high-end new product developed by Gu Yue Long Shan, a leading enterprise in the Chinese Huangjiu industry. It has opened up a new consumer market, cultivated new consumer groups and created new consumption modes to embrace young people and integrate into the international society.

Mr. Okada Masaru, minister counsellor, minister of general affairs of Embassy of Japan in China, made a speech titled [Shaoxing Huangjiu in Japan". He said that he is also a big fan of Shaoxing Huangjiu. Many Japanese tourists come to China to taste Chinese baijiu or Huangjiu in addition to beer. The Japanese call Chinese Huangjiu [Shaoxing Wine", and [Shaoxing wine" represents China in the eyes of the Japanese. During the tasting, we introduced the high-end product [Only Palatable Wine" of Gu Yue Long Shan to diplomats present. During the dinner, Shaoxing Opera, Yue Opera, Chinese lute pieces and Chinese famous songs with rich Chinese culture and Shaoxing characteristics were performed by Shaoxing artists.
